TINUI FLOOD-DAMAGED BRIDGE REPLACEMENT

PROJECT OVERVIEW

Following Cyclone Gabrielle, this critical bridge suffered severe structural damage when floodwaters rose to the top of the existing deck. The force of the water bent the original 1,400 mm UB girders by 250 mm and rendered the crossing unsafe. Rycroft Construction was engaged to design and construct a complete replacement, raising the bridge by one metre to improve flood resilience and restore vital access for the client.
